Documentary: The TRUTH, the Way & the Life

The TRUTH, the Way& the Life
02 | Synopsis

In a culture flooded with “fake news,” relativism, and competing truth claims, The Way, The Truth, and The Life — Episode 2: The Truth examines the modern crisis of truth and revisits the enduring question first voiced by Pontius Pilate: What is truth? Hosted by Steven R. Martins, this episode moves from street interviews with everyday passersby to in-depth theological and philosophical analysis, showing that while people rely on truth every day, few can define it coherently within their worldview.

Through Scripture, cultural critique, and the philosophical insights of Herman Dooyeweerd, the documentary exposes how autonomous human thought suppresses truth and reconstructs reality around self-definition. The film features interviews with Dr. James Wood of Redeemer University, Dr. Scott Masson of Tyndale University College, and political commentator and author Michael Wagner, along with pastoral and educational voices, each addressing Christ’s claim in John 14:6.

Against a backdrop of confusion and contradiction, the episode centers on the declaration of Jesus Christ—not merely that He speaks truth, but that He is the Truth—and argues that only in Him can reality, meaning, and knowledge be rightly understood.
